Daire Colmcille

Daire means oak tree or oak grove in Irish. Colmcille is the name for St Columba. Put them together and you get the ancient name for the city of Londonderry~Derry which claims the saint as its founding father.

As Derry's year as European Capital of Culture drew to a close, a small team finalised the new St Columba Heritage Centre just beyond the famous city walls.

Lucidity Media gave detailed advice and support to the project, working as interpretation consultant, audience advocate and text writer, drawing visitors into this fascinating story where history and legend meet.
